After the death of Prince Salim  Jahangir, his son Shahabuddin Muhammad Shah Jahan I Mirza Shahabuddin Beg Muhammad Khan Khurram was the fifth Shahr Shah of the Mughal Empire.
He ruled from 1628 to 1658. Shah Jahan's reign was the era of the rise of the empire. And the epochs of this period also say that in 1658, Shah Jahan was deposed by his son Aurangzeb Alamgir.The masterpieces built during his time are still standing todayShah Jahan's fame is due to the stories of his love for Taj Mahal and Mumtaz Mahal Shah Jahan was born on January 5, 1592 in Lahore, at that time Lahore was the capital of the Mughal Empire And the Mughal emperor Jalaluddin Akbar had been living in Lahore with his family since 1586. Six days after the birth, Jahangir invited his father Akbar to suggest a name for the child.Jalaluddin Akbar named his son Haram and gave him to Ruqiya Sultan Begum to train him.When the Mughal Emperor Jahangir died on 28 October 1627, Shah Jahan was at Junar's place at the time of Jahangir's death.Shah Jahan defeated his youngest brother Shahryar Mirza and crowned himself emperor in the Agra Fort. In addition to Shahryar, Shah Jahan executed most of his rival claimants to the throne favorite consort Shah Jahan presided over the aggressive campaigns against the Deccan sultanates, the conflicts with the Portuguese, and the wars with the Safav ids. He also suppressed several local rebellions and dealt with the devastating Deccan famine of 1630–32.In September 1657, Shah Jahan was ailing and appointed his eldest son Dara Shikoh as his successor. This nomination led to a succession crisis among his three sons, from which Shah Jahan's third son Aurangzeb (r. 1658–1707) emerged victorious and became the sixth emperor, executing all of his surviving brothers, including Crown Prince Dara Shikoh. After Shah Jahan recovered from his illness in July 1658, Aurangzeb imprisoned him in Agra Fort from July 1658 until his death in January 1666.[9] He was laid to rest
